I oppose this change. As a cisgender woman, I have never felt threatened or uncomfortable in any spaces with transgender women. I oppose the Board of Health’s intended regulatory action: “Regulations Governing Biological Sex Specific or Separated Spaces and Activities [12 VAC 5 ? 660]". This action will fail to actually protect any women in Virginia and will only succeed in making my fellow Virginians, and many cisgender women and girls, easier targets for harassment. Anyone who has used a women's rest room or changing facility knows that we're all trying to do our business and get out of there as quickly and anonymously as possible. Transgender women are the same. If you really cared about the health and safety of women and girls, you would focus on domestic violence laws and rules.
