Sports for everyone

Please separate these two distinct rulings.Bathroom use is an entirely separate conversation from athletic ability. Bathrooms should be made available for anyone to do their business.

On the other topic: everyone who would like to play sports should have an opportunity to fairly compete for a position in the sport they love. Please ensure that any female (as assigned at birth) does not lose an opportunity to participate on her team of eligibility because someone with greater physical ability due to their naturally-occurring biological advantages of having been born male. Trans people should not be shut out of sports. They should be protected in their right to compete for a chance to play the sport they love (with their classmates that were naturally born with the same biological advantages). If people expect girls to be accepting of a trans female joining their girls’ soccer team, then people can surely also expect boys to be accepting of that trans girl playing with them on the boys team.

If this legislation goes through, and women’s sports are not protected, then ensure that the law is followed 100% of the way: no trans male shall be allowed to continue playing on the girls’ team with all the other girls they have been playing sports with during their childhood—that child shall only be eligible to try out to play on the boys’ team.

Please ensure women’s sports are protected. Classmates and parents of trans kids are accepting people. We will continue to be accepting of people being afforded the opportunity to compete against others born with the same biological advantages/disadvantages.
