OPPOSE more pollution from diesel generators!

As a physician and a resident of Virginia, I am writing in string opposition to a proposed rule change at would allow data centers to increase their use of diesel generators. These generators release substantial toxic emissions, including carcinogens. As we are seeing  cancer rates are increasing in young people, we need to address the pollutants we are closed to.  DEQ’s job and mission is to “protect and enhance the environment of Virginia” and to “promote the health and well-being” of its residents.

expanding the allowable use of diesel generators by data centers will only lead to significantly more air pollution (and release of other toxic emissions such as carbon monoxide, VOC’s and sulfur dioxide). Your job is to protect and value our health and wellness over Data Center profit motives.

Thank you for your attention to this vital issue.
