Trans people exist, always have, always will, and deserve to be treated with the dignity and respect that all humans inherently deserve. Trans athletes deserve to play, compete, and participate in any sport they are interested in. Trans athletes do not cause harm to cis-gender athletes, because there is nothing wrong, dangerous or unfair about letting trans athletes participate in sports. Discrimination and hate rhetoric causes ACTUAL harm to individuals and poses a significant threat to public health. Trans people are far more likely to die by suicide than cisgender people - this should be the focus of public health efforts.
