Diesel Generators Harmful to Public Health and Environment

Public health is of the utmost importance. Data centers require power, but diesel generators are an objectively harmful option. This option must not be allowed, as it poses grave risks to public health. In addition to the inherent health risks to people, atmospheric pollution, such that would be caused by the diesel generators, would harm wildlife across large sections of the state.

As per the DEQ's mission, the protection and enhancement of Virginia's environment and the promotion of residents' health and well-being must take priority over the preferred energy options of data center companies.

Now is the time to work toward the protection and enhancement of our environment, not contribute to further pollution and harm for the sake of the ever-increasing number of data centers in this state.
