Let's try longer term planning instead of short-sighted profit-motivated measures

I strongly oppose the proposed rule change for the use of emergency diesel generators at data centers. Allowing these generators—designed only for sudden, unforeseen emergencies—to run during planned outages or other non-emergency events will generate additional diesel exhaust and pollutants (PM2.5/PM10, NOx, SO?, VOCs) and jeopardize our region’s air quality and public health. I urge Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to reject this expansion and maintain strict limits unless far stronger safeguards and monitoring are put in place.
