I appreciate the chance to comment on this proposed change to regulations concerning the use of backup Generators on Data Center properties.

In researching the DEQ website, the mission of the Department says that your primary purpose is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia from environmental harm. That is YOUR JOB! 

The idea that these diesel generators on Data Center sites are allowed to use Tier 2 generators at all is a clear violation of your mission when there are much healthier options available. Tier IV Generators pollute far less than the diesel Tier 2 ones do. I realize that these tier IV generators are more expensive, and it would be difficult to change all Tier 2 generators out to Tier IV, but that is not your concern. Your job is to protect us; not to protect the profit margin of Dominion Energy, or that of the 5 richest companies in existence.

It is also unfathomable to me that you would consider anything other than emergency use for Tier 2 Generators, especially around schools, hospitals, residences, and outdoor recreation areas. 

Please think about us citizens for once, and DO YOUR JOB by turning this proposal down.
