As a former adoption/foster care social worker, I make the following comments:

It should be the best interests of the child alone that are considered when placing a child with foster and adoptive parents.

Agencies licensed by the state should not be allowed to discriminate against prospective parents or children based on race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, disability and family status

It is my hope that the State Board of Social Services restore the protections against such discrimination included in the proposed rules when issuing the final rules.
