COLAGE: Support for protection against discrimination

COLAGE: People with a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, or Queer Parent strongly supports adoption regulations being approved as proposed to protect prospective parents from discrimination by faith based agencies based on race, color, national origin, religious affiliation, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability or political affiliation.

As people with LGBTQ parents we know that it doesn't matter who or how many parents you have, it matters that you have support and love. We experience first hand the challenges discrimination presents to our families when it comes to visiting our caretakers and parents in the hospital, feeling welcomed and accepted at school - many of the basic daily things most people never think about.

There are millions of children already living in homes with LGBTQ parents who deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality under the law.  As people with LGBTQ parents we know that no prospective parent should be discriminated against because of who they are or who they love.

Every child deserves a family.
