Many people have deeply-held religious convictions about marriage and sexuality. It is entirely legitimate for a faith-based adoption agency to consider a prospective guardian's family status and sexual orientation. Preserving their legal ability to do so is necessary to protect the freedom to practice their religion; without this protection, many faith-based agencies will be unable to place children at all. Please continue to allow these agencies to do their good work helping children without interfering with the practice of their faith.
