Some birth mothers desire to work through a Christian adoption agency that ensures a married heterosexual couple.   Faith-based adoption agencies should be allowed to operate according to their deeply held religious beliefs.

There are secular adoption agencies in Virginia that same-sex couples can use.  Faith-based agencies should not be bullied, intimidated or forced into providing adoptions for same-sex couples. 

The Board of Social Services is to be commended for the very fair approval in April of regulations that are respectful of the belief systems of faith-based adoption agencies in Virginia, which hold Biblical beliefs about marriage and the family.
