All reputable child protective agencies believe data which shows that  children benefit most from two-parent families.  The sex of the parents is irrelevant.  In fact, some studies show that children of gay and lesbian parents actually fare better than those of straight parents.  Through my volunteer work with CASA (court appointed special advocates) and as a school teacher, I can tell you that children need families that care for them and love them and any law that prevents potential parents from bringing needy children into their homes is simply wrong and flies in the face of data about what is good for children.
