Support of Faith-based Adoptive Agencies

I support language that allows faith-based agencies to continue to operate without having to compromise their faith.  Same sex couples can choose not to go to these agencies, just as those who share their faith can have faith-based agencies to choose.  Forcing faith-based agencies to comply with rules that violate their faith is against religious liberty.  So many comments address that what is best for the child should be done.  I agree.  And I do not see how continuing to support faith-based adoptions where people of that faith can adopt children is bad for kids.  At present, 80% of adoptions occur through faith-based agencies.  Certainly, they are helping many children.  If they close down because they are forced to chose between their faith and funds to operate, the number of adoptions in Virginia will likely decrease.
