The state should be considering a person's parenting abilities, ability to nurture, ability to protect, ability to provide...not who they sleep with, what their religion is, the color of skin, etc.  I find it disgraceful that in today's times after all the civil rights struggles, after so many have given their lives for our freedoms in past and current wars that one group feels they have the right to single handedly demand their views be protected in the name of "freedom" and exclude any that do not fit thier mold.  Freedom for one, freedom for all.
