Stop Intolerance

I wish you folks hiding behind the "faith based" argument could live my life for the past 40 years since coming out.  It has not been easy at times, but I would not change a thing.  The fact is the majority of the children who enter the foster care system come from heterosexual parents, give that some thought.  Fact is the majority of people who molest are heterosexual.  Give that some thought.  I have seen plenty of my gay friends raise children, many with the hopes their children will be straight, so they wont have to endure the pain those of us born gay and created in the image of our creator have.  I have seen these children grow up to be valuable assest to their community.  Ask yourself, if that parent, who was gay did not get the opportunity to adopt and the child remained in foster care, jumping from home to home what chances would they have of a decent life.  It saddens me to see how these children are being victimized once again by organizations that do not practice tolerance, who do not practice the Golden Rule of due onto others as you would wish them to do unto you.  I think you who hide behind religious freedoms need to take a hard look at the damage you are creating to God's children....all of them, the children that loose out and the people, gays/lesbians, you push aside. That is not what Jesus would have done.

I support adoption/foster care regulations protecting potential parents from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender, age, disability, religious, or political affiliation, race, color, or national origin.
