I was greatly pleased by the decision of the State Board of Social Services on 20 April 2011 upholding the right of faith-based agencies to continue their work without inappropraite government intrusion into the practice of their faith.  Theese agencies provide invaluable services to the people of the Commonwealth and it would be a tragedy--as well as an betrayal of Virginia's long and proud history of religious freedom-- if they are prevented from continuing to do so by regulations that force them to violate their fundamental beliefs.
