Discriminating based on completely arbitrary guidelines, making it more difficult than it already is for children to find homes, is absurd. The only things that should discount someone from becoming an adoptive/foster parent are factors like known history of violence or some other dangerous crime, mental soundness, and financial capability (within reason), all of which are already accounted for.
