I am adamantly opposed to the elimination of the current regulation. Striking this passage could have a detrimental effect on the overall standard of care provided to our citizens and would erode the trust placed upon us by those same citizens we serve. Emergency response personnel must be held to a high professional and personal standard. We would be exempting ourselves from the social norm that is already exercised in lesser settings. By not retaining this current regulation as a minimal requirement, we are empowering a failure to address and abate the issue professionally in a pro-active approach.
