Commenter: A concerned parent

Against this mandate

As a parent whose child is in a private school in Virginia, this is a terrible idea. 1- There is no proof the vaccine works. Actually, the latest data shows the death rate from this same week in 2020 and 2021 is different by less than half of a percent.  2- Out of 10 people that we are in contact with regularly, the only one that got COVID was the vaccinated one. That doesn’t include extracurricular activities, where many people are exposed. 3- The person that got COVID went to the ER. Since they were vaccinated and DID NOT need oxygen, they were sent home.  Therefore, I do not put much weight into the hospital numbers. 4- I am opposed to the government trying to “scare” the people into doing things. Especially without facts to support them. 5- The reason the United States is the best country in the world is because of the choices the PEOPLE get to make. I am one of those PEOPLE. The government does not get to make my decisions. 6- finally, what happened to the government saying children were not as susceptible and did not transmit this virus?
