Vaccination of school personnel & students in Commonwealth public & private institutions

I support required vaccinations for SARS CoV2 for teachers, administrators and all staff in  both public and private schools in the Commonwealth. Vaccinated staff are currently assuming an outsized responsibility for educating and supporting the education of our students due to the continuing absences of unvaccinated staff due to illness or quarantine requirements and the need to cover for their colleagues. The quality of education afforded to students of schools in the Commonwealth will continue to suffer due to this unsustainable burden placed on vaccinated staff to cover for their unvaccinated colleagues. I also support vaccination requirements for students in both public and private schools of the Commonwealth as the burden that an unvaccinated child places on the system (and the subsequent burden on their fellow students) due to their own absence and the attendant outsized efforts required to bring their level of engagement and learning back to baseline, not to mention the potential for disease transmission to others with the same implications, is untenable. As a former public school employee that left during 2018-2019 school year for a private school position and is currently not working, I will not consider returning to either a public or private educational setting without a teacher/administrator/staff mandate for vaccination, at minimum, and likely will not do so without a student vaccination mandate in place as well.
