First, science. According to the CDC, COVID-19 is relatively rare among children. The peak in July 2020 was nominal: 

"COVID-19 incidence increased from 13.8 per 100,000 on May 31 to 37.9 on July 19 [2020]. These are PER 100,000. That's .0379%!!

For most, the symptoms were inconsequential, and they survived. Of those who were hospitalized and/or did not survive, 38% had other underlying conditions. Those with underlying conditions [such as obesity], are vulnerable to a host of other diseases as well.

This is not a good reason to mandate a vaccination. The petitioner is living in unreasonable fear. I'm so glad she doesn't have agoraphobia and is not demanding that the state make everyone stay indoors.

Second, this "vaccination" does not help stop the disease nor its transmission. If it did, those who were vaccinated would not be living in fear. They would have immunity. However, we keep seeing "breakthrough cases." How many breakthroughs do we need in order to start questioning the efficacy of these vaccines?

The fact is, that this petition leaves out important considerations such as:

1. Natural immunity - all other vaccine mandates have exemptions if the child has natural immunity as proven by testing
2. Religious exemption - the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America shall take precedence over this matter.
3. False Danger - In the general population over 99% of COVID cases were survived. Children have a far higher rate of survival than the general population. The minority of students with underlying conditions should be cautious, and voluntary vaccination would be welcomed as the parent, child, and their doctor see fit.

The state does not have permission to mandate this vaccine.
