I am writing to voice my opposition to mandating the Covid-19 vaccine for children. As a new vaccine there has simply not been sufficient time to determine the long term side effects. It is impossible to know the long term side effects. Should there be serious long term side effects they could have lasting impacts on children. Children cannot give their consent at their age and the state is substituting itself for the voices of opposed parents and children who some day may be opposed to having received a vaccine the long term effects of which are unknown. The extreme measure of a mandate usurps children’s And parents’ freedom. As a parent of children who have had Covid and therefore have immunities I should have the right to elect no vaccine.
