Designate a segment of Laurerl Fork in Highland County, the majority of which is within
the property boundary of Rifle Ridge Farm, LP as Exceptional State Waters.
Agency Plan
Public comment will be accepted until November 7, 2016. The State Water Control Board
will decide whether or not to move forward with the rulemaking at either their last
quarterly meeting of 2016 or first quarterly meeting of 2017.

The State Water Control Board, at its meeting on December 12, 2016, authorized the
Department to initiate a rulemaking to consider amending the Water Quality Standards
Regulation (9VAC25-260-30 A 3) to designate the petitioned segment of Laurel Fork
as exceptional state waters. A Notice of Intended Regulatory Action will be submitted
early in 2017.
