||This general memorandum provides guidance to DBVI Rehabilitation Teachers about how to explain to individuals receiving Independent Living/Rehabilitation Teaching Services that the agency may be unable to purchase certain goods due to limited funding. Also, Rehabilitation Teachers are reminded that they should to continue to provide thorough assessments prior to the agency purchase of hearing aids for the individuals who have combined vision and hearing loss. Finally, this document provided guidance about how to reference an individuals participation in cost of services.

||Independent Living/Rehabilitation Teaching (RT/IL) goods and services are almost entirely funded with state dollars. Because of budgetary constraints experienced by the agency, this particular DBVI program has limited funding.to purchase items such as low vision aids and other adapted technology for individuals receiving RT/IL services.
