I strongly oppose this new plan. While I fully understand that transgender people have a long road to walk and will support their choice, our schools are not the place for this. Can we teach tolerance and understanding? Absolutely! But should 2 children of a different sex share a bathroom??? Absolutely not. This is a safety concern for all parents. When kids are in middle and high school, they are learning who they are sexually, pushing children together like this is only going to cause issues. Our schools should be promoting peace and understanding for all sexes and orientations, not deciding which bathroom they should use. This is not about being politically correct, this is about our kids, the most important part of our lives. I choose to keep my kids safe and teach them tolerance and if this is passed, my children will be homeschooled.
