Handcuffing our school teachers and administrators with a responsibility they should not and are not qualified to bear is a dangerous policy and threatens to undermine chains of authority. Students will learn to manipulate these guidelines for their own benefit, and we will be harming the rights and morals of the majority of students and faculty for the whims of a very small minority. If there is ANY concern over the hurt feelings of a student, we should instead institute a policy of school uniforms where everyone will dress the same with name tags on both the front and back. School administrators and educators would then be able to address any student by the name chosen at the beginning of the year WITH the parents' knowledge and consent. This addresses a perceived problem without attacking the remaining majority.
