Teacher's tenure contracts should hold a clause that if they do harm to any student or demographic that they will be fired, regardless of the protections tenure holds for them. This would include if they have been investigated and found to have expressed any anti-LGBTQ, racist, misogynist, or ableist beliefs to any student or staff. It would go on record and be cause for termination. Any teacher who holds anti-LGBTQ sentiments are a threat to LGBTQ students and create an environment that allows discrimination and harm. Secondary to that they should also be enrolled in the databases police search to conduct background checks for churches, scout organizations, sports organizations, and any other background check conducted on adults who have contact with students so organizations are aware of the threat posed by that person for their LGBTQ children. That information should be provided to these groups requesting background investigations so they can make the determination if the (former) teacher still poses a threat to minors.
