Please allow otherwise acceptable, but expired photo IDs to be used for voting purposes. The current regulation permits voters who no longer drive, such as the elderly, to use their expired Virginia driver’s license to vote. If the proposed revision passes, these voters will not have acceptable photo IDs and aren’t able to drive to a general registrar’s office to get a free voter photo ID. Making matters worse, the local general registrars are not required to conduct mobile outreach to sign-up voters who can’t travel to a general registrar’s office.
Please do not impose another unjustified burden on the right to vote. Please ensure the proposed revision is not adopted.
