Many children in Virginia need permanent adoptive homes. We must not stand in the way of locating loving adoptive homes for them.  More than 20 years of research reveals that lesbian and gay adults can provide supportive homes in which their children thrive.  More recent research with lesbian and gay adoptive parents and their children reveals that these families are also thriving.  Virginia's agencies should not be allowed to discriminate against children or prospective adoptive parents on the basis of race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, disability or family status.
