There are currently 4,175 same sex parents in Virginia raising approximately 8,350 children.

There are 6,000 children awaiting adoption in Virginia and there are 20,500 same-sex couples in Virginia who could be great parents to some of these children.

55% of Virginia adults think gay and lesbian couples should be able to adopt a child in our state. Three decades of research shows that children of same-sex parents have the same advantages and opportunities as children raised by straight parents.

In the best interest of the children in Virginia, please put an end to the discrimination against same-sex couples adopting.
