Put Kids Not Politics First in Adoption

Dear Board of Social Services:

Children, not politics, must come first! It is imperative that non-discrimination regulations will make Virginia a better place for children in need of a permanent home.

As a voter living in Virginia, I believe that all children deserve loving homes.  The definition of a loving home should not be based on the sexual orientation, gender, race, or other factors.  It is the basis form of biogotry, and the most painful, to deny a loving potential parent(s) the opportunity to adopt a child in need based on discriminatory factors.

All children deserve a loving, forever family. Currently, there are more than 1,000 children waiting to be adopted in Virginia. Decisions about prospective parents should be based on the best interest of the child, not on discriminatory factors unrelated to good parenting. When agencies act in the stead of the state, they should be bound by principals of non-discrimination even if they are private agencies.

Please put children before the politics of the day - gay, lesbian, transgendered, single, differing race - all those are not determinig factors for good parenting, it is loving a child.
