Non-discrimination in Adoption

I see no compelling reason why anyone's sexual orientation, nationality, etc. should stand in the way of adopting a child, if the person/s prove to be responsible and loving citizens.  It comes under the heading, to me, of equal rights for all.  Research shows that same sex couples raise well adjusted, happy, loving children who go on to become responsible caring adults.  I would hope that DSS will do the right thing in allowing any person/s who meet the qualifications for 'good parent/s', no matter their sexual orientation, race, etc., to become parents; thus, giving children hope for the future.
