I oppose allowing discrimination in adoption

Hello,

I strongly oppose allowing VA adoption agencies to use discrimination along racial, religious, or  sexual orientation lines in placing children in loving homes. The only factor should be the ability of the home to meet the child's needs.  Kids need love, stability and safety to thrive.  The sexual orientation of the adoptive parents is by itself irrelevant to that--there are both great parents and abusive monsters in both the gay and the straight world.  Don't allow adoption agencies to close off what might be wonderful homes for needy children just because of that agencies prejudices against a specific group of people.

Thank you,

Heather Trout, DVM
