Prevent discrimination by adoption agencies

The government's primary interest in finding adoptive parents is that they be fit to care for the child. More adoptive parents are always needed; why should willing individuals be turned away, especially when there is no evidence that factors like orientation or political beliefs affect the parents' ability to care for children? Supervising the adoption of children is a government function; even when it is delegated to private agencies, those agencies should be required to uphold the nondiscrimination standards of our government.
