Adoption discrimination

I find this apaling!  My husband and I are in the final stages of formalizing the adoption of our beautiful 3-1/2 year old son.  Rather than having anyone waste time on whether someone who wants to be a loving parent should have that right (!) I think time would be better spent on creating a "National Adoption Law" which would do away with all the individual State hoops that are required to be jumped through.  Our son was born in West Virginia and the differences between the laws in Virginia and West Virginia have led to the fact it has taken 3-1/2 years to finalize this!  If someone is willing to invest the time, money and LOVE to be a parent - we have no right to limit that by saying they cannot be gay, must be married, etc.  A true parent loves their child through thick and thin and any child would be blessed by being raised by loving parents - regardless of their gender or sexual orientation.  Please do not put Virginia back in the stone ages!
