Foster Parent Rules

Foster children need good homes. Their welfare is paramount. If we don't do well with them they are lost ot us and become a burden to society and face tragic unfulfilled lives. There is no reason that Gay and Lesbian parents should be excluded from being foster care parent based on theri sexual orientation alone. In fact the Amercian Academy of Pediatrics in adoption cases has determined that there is no justification for excluding gays and lesbians from being adoptive parents based soley on whether they are gay or lesbian. Gays and lesbians are like anyone else. They may make good parents and some may not. But bad parenting isn't a function of who they are! All adults who answer the call to be parents deserve the oppportunity  to be foster parents to children in need. Standards for good parenting should not exclude gays and lesbians on this factor alone.
