As humans, we naturally oppose the unknown. Some people have ignorantly explored the unknown and gotten hurt due to lack of knowledge that would otherwise could have been prevented had that person known about it before experiencing it (learning it the hard way). In this case, the unknown is transitioning persons. With the internet and social media, we cannot prevent children from knowing it exists, knowing that they have their own culture, and to a degree, emulating that culture. Educating children about it in schools will help kids make an informed decision about what they actually think about the topic, rather than subjecting them to the pressures of social media and the prejudices of their parents.
