I understand the intent to grant the right to equality to the homosexual community. However, in a free society the rights of any one group cannot wipe out entirely the freedoms of other groups who must have the ability to dissent in the public forum . I believe that since the public schools are supported by all the people of Virginia , there has to be guidelines in place that support some distinctions of the sexes. In light of the Me Too movement , anti -bullying laws and lawsuits that defend the right to be free of sexual harassment and intimidation , we would be wise to not ignore some distinctions. To do so is to be completely insensitive to the very real and important guidelines that can help protect young people whether at school or a job or when they enter the adult world. Respectfully, I ask you to vote down the bills that eradicate all sexual distinctions between male and female. Please allow the freedom to have privacy in locker rooms and bathrooms for all citizens in Virginia. Thank you for your consideration.
