Transgender children deserve the safety and rights in schools and society, just as any other child should. They are not dangerous, they are not a menace, they are children simply trying to find themselves as any child is. I am in STRONG support of any and all laws pertaining to the protection of transgender people, and hope anyone with half a heart also is.
Aside from the fact gender variance is a very real thing, suicide is extremely common among transgender adolescents. The life expectancy of transgender individuals is 35. I believe these protections proposed will help raise that life expectancy as anyone deserves. They deserve a full life.
I hope the VA lawmakers will consider the lives of those most effected rather than just nasty comments in opposition of protection of people.
