As a public school parent, I see many issues. You are making other students uncomfortable having to share intimate spaces with other genders. Will my high school student be provided a private place to change if he is uncomfortable in a locker room situation? Will my high school student be provided special accommodations in an overnight trip situation?
The rest of us have to forego long traditions of homecoming courts, father-daughter dances, etc. because a person might find it uncomfortable? That is not equitable. Pandering to the desires of a few at the expense of most of the others is not equity.
Assemblies against all bullying in all forms no matter what the reason is applauded, but assemblies promoting transgender lifestyle is a promotion of certain beliefs that may counter the beliefs and religion of many students. It is not the purpose of education. Teaching transgender victories is recent and current politics and should only be taught in a class focusing on current events. It should not be part of regular social studies curriculum.
