In the past, I haven't been the best at understanding these type of issues. But now, I think that our society should simply accept that the identity issue has existed for years under different names, titles, etc. In general, just let our kids express themselves without fear of retribution from their peers or state and simply find that they are our future. Our children can pave the way to s brighter future if only they are not held back by antiquated norms (which in terms of race and gender) have not advanced us in ways we could have enjoyed. Let our students be free of the bounds that held back our greatest minds so we can enjoy their full potential. Godspeed and here's to the future.
