Women who change their legal name during the life cycle (the majority of women in Virginia fall into this category ) are more burdened with providing proof of Identification at time of voting. Having an original birth certificate and an original marriage certificate (sometimes more than one) to prove current legal name links back to birth certificate proving citizenship, is a burden that requires women to supply multiple documents, making it more likely a women will not meet the burden of proving identification and be allowed to vote under the new law. These new Voting laws impede the 19th amendment and restrict equal access to voting for women, esp older women, for whom providing these documents is undue burden- Eileen Davis- co founder, Women-Matter.org
