This amendment should be opposed. Local school boards have policies and protocol practices put in place to address issues such as notification to inform parents/guardians about course requirements, whether material is questionable or inappropriate, and the fact that alternative assignments are available without penalty if the parent opts the student out of assignments. Many individual departments go beyond local school board policies to leave "no stone unturned" to protect the intergrity of the curriculum while providing viable learning experiences. Let the professionals be professionals.
