No increased allowance for data center diesel generator use

DEQ must be guided by its core mission to protect our environment and the health and well being of Virginians.  This means curbing air pollution, not increasing it with an expansion of  the definition of "emergency use" for diesel generators for non-emergency planned events.

The use of Tier II diesel generators--with the most permissive standards on six pollutants that contribute to ground level ozone-- must be reserved strictly for "sudden and unforeseeable events" or maintenance, not in service to unconstrained, short-sighted data center growth.

DEQ must serve the people of Virginia, not a polluting industry forcing the highest of costs on our communities.  Please do not make changes to the existing rules for emergency diesel generators. We need more protection from pollution, not less.
