Description
This action is exempt from the executive branch review process.
This regulation is essential to protect public safety. Generally, this regulation addresses the use of firearms in specific counties or areas which, because of terrain, population, or other unique factors, need special rules to help insure the safety of the citizens. Projectiles pose a potential threat to citizens beyond the range of shooters' senses, and each year a few citizens are struck by bullets or shot pellets fired by a hunter out-of-sight of the victim. This regulation also serves to protect personal property, including livestock. Buildings, equipment, and livestock are more likely to be struck by bullets or shot pellets because of their size. Property damage from errant fire imposes a financial burden on citizens of the Commonwealth. Responsible citizens recognize the dangers and adjust their activities accordingly. This regulation is necessary for the few irresponsible shooters.
