Action:
To amend Chapter 45 to conform to changes made to the Code of Virginia as a result of HB 2626.
Action 2495

[Withdrawn 10/23/2007]
General Information
Action Summary HB 2626 was passed in March of 2007 which gives the Commission the ability to issue a temporary license to an account wagering company when an agreement cannot be reached among the account wagering company, the unlimited licensee, and the recognized majority horsemen groups. As a result, Chapter 45 of the Virginia Racing Commission’s regulations is being amended to conform to the changes that were made to the Code of Virginia as provided for in HB 2626. The amendments add definitions for Advanced Deposit Account Wagering, Handle, and Retainage in order to streamline and clarify various sections of the regulations. These amendments also give the Virginia Racing Commission the authority to intervene in contract negotiations regarding account wagering if an agreement cannot be reached among the parties involved.
