Those who are mentally ill don't need things to be any more complicated. More restrictions and changes to the programs offered will further frustrate an already overwhelming-to-navigate system of care As a mental health professional, I see the struggles of those who cannot get the help they need on a daily basis, for one reason or another. When regulations are more stringent, more people are hospitalized because they cannot get the help they need to deal with suicidal thinking or other crisis situations. In such a system of restricted access to help, we will cause this population to be more of a danger to themselves or others. This is unacceptable. Let's start considering people over dollars.
