Leaving RGGI would reduce Virginia revenue by more than $185 million next year, which would strip funds to protect communities from flooding, extreme weather, and rising sea levels.
According to the NRDC’s report, RGGI also reduces the cost of living for Virginians through energy efficiency investments. Thanks to the investments made to date, consumers are on track to save $15 billion on their electric bills. This money goes to help people all over Virginia.
Please keep Virginia in RGGI. Leaving it would not only leave us unprepared for expensive weather and climate events but would also greatly reduce the revenue of our state.
