Action | Regulations for Licensure of Abortion Facilities |
Stage | Final |

To the Board of Health and Dr. Reynolds-Cane:
These Regulations for Licensure of Abortion Facilities represent several things to me:
1) Government intrusion into one of the most private aspects of women's lives and a crime against their individual liberty
2) The grossest example of superfluous regulation, as Richmond applies a particularly stringent standard to providers of abortions (one of the *safest* and most common outpatient procedures in the country), while holding oral and cosmetic surgeons to a more relaxed standard
I urge you, as well as the citizens and legislators of the Commonwealth to take action to prevent or reverse these invasive, highly selective, and unecessary laws. They trample on the liberty of individuals and small businesses, they will cost taxpayers, and they will demonstrate that Virginia is an unfair place to practice medicine and a bad place to be a woman.
Sincerely,
Christian Deegan
