The General Assembly got it right when it passed commonsense safeguards for women entering an abortion clinic in Virginia. It's incomprehensible that we would hold nail salons, tanning salons and veterinarian clinics to a higher standard than an abortion clinic, where invasive medical procedures are performed. Turning a blind eye in Pennsylvania led to the abuses against women and babies seen in the Kermit Gosnell tragedy. Virginia should be proactive in protecting women from an unregulated industry seeking to make a profit off the destruction of her child.
